Since the publication of a century of memories in 2009, Stephen Pedrick has continued to talk to and record people living locally in the South Hams of Devon. This second publication holds extracts from the accounts of a further 32 of Stevens own recordings, along with two held back from those made for A Century of Memories, and also from a further 10 made with people who had been recorded by other interviewers some years ago.
All of the people recorded were living locally and some are Devonian from birth, but they had not all originated from the South Hams area of Devon, having come to live here from all parts of the country. However, all of their accounts contain a wealth of interesting detail and social history, making them so very worthy of publication.Â
