FELICITY GOODALL

We had a very enjoyable and entertaining evening on 16th November when Felicity talked about her travels in Burma and about her new book EXODUS BURMA. It was fascinating and horrifying in equal measure. I must say it was something I knew very little about and I am very glad to learn more. It was wonderful to see such a good audience. Many thanks to the British Legion for providing a venue and excellent refreshments.

Slightly Foxed

We had a most enjoyable evening on April 8th with the editors (and apparently most of the staff) of Slightly Foxed. Some of their authors also turned up, as well as press and subscribers from as far afield as Exeter and Plymouth, and, of course, some of our local customers and Friends. Photographs are in the shop if you want to have a look - discussion was quite animated!

Pen Farthing

Pen Farthing

We had an extremely interesting evening with Pen Farthing (and one of his dogs) at the Mill Club on the 4th November. Pen showed us slides of the camp and village in Helmand Province where he was stationed and of course of the dogs and his fellow soldiers. It was fascinating to see the awe-inspiring scenery and the abject poverty of the local people, not to mention the primitive conditions endured by our men.

Pen's books One Dog at a Time and No Place Like Home are both still available from the bookshop. Proceeds from the sales go to Pen's charity which supports mules and cats in Afghanistan. as well as dogs. More details from www.nowzaddogs.co.uk if you are interested.
