The Summer House

The Summer House

We had a very entertaining and enjoyable morning with Marcia on the 7th July. As usual, many of her devoted fans appeared, including a couple from Nottingham who had timed their holiday to coincide with the signing.

The Summer House is vintage Marcia Willett, a story of families, loves old and new, with a mystery at the heart of it, all set in the glorious Exmoor landscape that is so much a part of her books.

MARY BERRY

MARY BERRY

We had a very successful morning with Mary Berry on Saturday. She is a really delightful, friendly person and many of you  turned up to chat to her about culinary matters, some of you clutching tattered copies of well-loved cookbooks.

We still have signed copies of most of Mary's books, including the Baking Bible which we are continuing to offer at £20 (£5 off the rrp). Don't leave it too late if you want a particular book as they are proving very popular.

MARCIA WILLETT

MARCIA WILLETT

We were delighted to see Marcia at the end of June when she came into the shop to sign copies of her new book, The Prodigal Wife. As always, there was a huge turnout and we were pleased to see so many of Marcia's  loyal readers from in and around Kingsbridge, as well as a smattering from much further away.

The Prodigal Wife will be available in paperback later this year.

Gordon Waterhouse

Gordon Waterhouse

On 6th August we had Gordon Waterhouse in the shop signing copies of his latest book Rock Pools and Seashells written with Bryan Ashby. At only £3.95 this is the essential companion to every trip to the beach, and is full of fascinating information. Did you know that a small fish called Montagu's Blenny can be found in rock pools around Thurlestone, and is named after the famous naturalist who lived in Kingsbridge 200 years ago?
